The Princess of Wales's Yearly Yuletide Musical Celebration Honours Unsung Heroes

Her Royal Highness has organised her customary Christmas carol concert at the historic Abbey, with guests including royals, celebrities and local heroes who have made a difference in their neighbourhoods.

The sizable congregation will enjoy a mix of festive songs, musical performances, and spoken word pieces from performers including Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kate Winslet.

Centred Around Kindness and Compassion

The theme of the concert, held in the glowing Westminster Abbey on the afternoon, is kindness and showing love to others.

In the audience are Jonathan and Anna Cordiner, whose child passed away from a brain tumour, and who established a foundation, a support fund, to support families who have a terminally ill child.

"The time, care and compassion you give, often discreetly and without words, and without any expectation or recognition, make an remarkable change to the circumstances of individuals," Her Royal Highness stated in a note prior to the festive gathering.

Attendees entering the Abbey can listen to talented youth performers backed by the Future Talent organisation, set up with the help of the former royal to increase availability of instrumental training.

Trumpeter Carys Wood, 18, who plays the trumpet and is from Wales, has been assisted by the organisation, with grants helping towards instruments, tuition, and transportation expenses - and she said it was "awesome" to be performing at tonight's service.

Her younger sibling Eliza, aged 11, who performs on the brass instrument, will likewise attend the Abbey. "It's unbelievable that I get to perform here in front of so many notable figures," she said.
